Red on my lips, top and soles.
Happy Thursday! I’m excited to share this new outfit post with you featuring a playful lip print top. Today I’m traveling to help my brother move into his new college dorm room! He’s my baby brother and will be starting his first year of college next week, I am excited and in sort of disbelief it’s time for him to move away. Summer also seems to feel like it’s winding down here in Seattle, I can’t quite put my finger on it but something in the air feels like it’s changed the last few days. It’s chillier in the mornings when I go outside to let my dog out, even cooler in the afternoons. I’m trying to decide if I truly am ready to say so long to summer and welcome fall, not sure.
This lip print top was a Nordstrom sale purchase a while back when I was shopping with my sister, Katia. It’s now marked down even further (under $30) at Nordstrom Rack. When I got this top I was on the hunt for flexible and fun blouses I could transition from work to going out. It’s proved to do just what I had hoped it would, I’ve worn this top on multiple occasions under blazers and sweaters to work, as well as by itself on warm summer nights with shorts and jeans.
Lip print top (under $30) // Harlowe and Graham blazer (similar options here, here and here) // Paige jeans // Christian Louboutin pumps (similar under $100) // Clutch (under $50!) // Gorjana Love necklace (also love this one) // Dolce & Gabbana Matte lipstick c/o // Karen Walker sunglasses (similar under $25) // Gorjana gold rings
When I look back through these photos I’m reminded of how hot it was the day these were shot, I think it was in the low to mid 90’s. It was a Thursday afternoon, hours before I was supposed to fly out on a red eye to Texas (see my Austin, TX photo diary here). I love the way the photos turned out despite the heat and my constant fidgeting with my hair and makeup, hoping I wouldn’t look like I was melting.
For this particular look I wanted to bring out the red in the lip print so I put on some red Dolce & Gabbana matte lipstick, my red blazer and my Christian Louboutin pumps. If you follow my blog closely you’ll probably remember that Dolce & Gabbana makes the best lipsticks, they glide onto your lips like butter and the color stays on really nicely all day long.
Quick not on the sunglasses, I know I gush about loving them a lot on my blog, but here I go again. These Karen Walker sunglasses have proven to be a big staple for me in the sunglasses department. I love the shape and the elegant tortoise color.
I mean, who can resist a good red sole? Am I right?
Here’s a candid outtake for good measure. Not all my photos turn out exacly how I want them. I’m honestly not sure what I’m even doing in this picture. Maybe there was a bee or a bug I was trying to dodge. Either way, I thought it was silly and wanted to share.

This is such a cute look! I love the red lip with the red lip shirt and then the pop of red the heels! This is a really great look. 🙂
Thank you!
