The 29th annual Nordstrom Designer Preview took place last week at Pier 91 in Seattle.

Nordstrom held its annual event, Designer Preview last week, showcasing the latest fall collections from top American and European designers. It’s an enchanting night where you get to be surrounded by beautiful clothes, people, shoes, handbags and more, against an incredibly stunning backdrop of the Seattle waterfront. Proceeds from the event benefited an upcoming exhibit at the Seattle Art Museum, “Intimate Impressionism”.

Upon arrival at Pier 91, you’ll see a red carpet with a step and repeat where you can have your picture taken, a DJ playing catchy music that makes you want to stop and dance before continuing inside and grabbing a glass of wine. With wine or champagne in hand you get to walk around, take in the view of the water or shop the boutiques Nordstrom has set up. Want to try on the new Christian Louboutin heels for fall? Maybe a new lace dress by Valentino, or perhaps hold the new Givenchy bag everyone is coveting, you can do that at Designer Preview. From women’s designer dresses, to stylish accessories, and men’s designer pieces, Nordstrom has you covered for all your fall designer fashion needs. I always leave Designer Preview feeling inspired for fall, and with a list of things I need to prepare for the new season.

I rented my dress from Rent the Runway, I saw the bell sleeves and was sold. For an event that is so fashion focused I thought it would be fun to wear a dress that was a little different. I paired it with my Valentino Rockstud heels and a simple gold clutch.

Behind me you’ll see a crowd of people enjoying the nice evening out on the pier before the runway show began. I loved getting to walk around and see what everyone was wearing, people pull out all the stops!

Snapped this on the way into the show, I loved the quote!

These Fendi Mini By the Way Crossbody Bags caught my eye almost as soon as I walked in. I’m a big fan of crossbody bags because they allow you to be hands free when you’re out and about.

We got to enjoy great music by a fabulous DJ throughout the evening. I may or may not have danced a little as I walked in.

Nordstrom set up an accessories boutiques in where you could try on shoes, see bags and get a feel for what was important for fall. This Proenza Schouler bag, and Christian Louboutin pump had me at hello. I love the metallic and glitter!

I was enamored with these shoes by Jimmy Choo. The details are feminine and delicate. My kind of style.

Now, for the runway show! While shopping around the boutiques we eventually heard a voice come on an intercom encouraging us to go and find our seats as the show was about to begin. Here are some of my favorite looks off the runway.

I noticed this hue of blue in a lot of the looks, so I’ll be stocking up on it ASAP.

If you read my blog often you might remember that I’ve been quite infatuated with off the shoulder everything, I saw this dress and loved the little peek of skin it shows off the shoulders. It’s a little more modest and is very elegant. A great way to transition into chillier weather but still getting to show off your shoulders.

I don’t know if I am brave enough to walk around with a piercing coming out of my nose BUT this model sure made it look super cool and easy to pull off. So, I’m a maybe on that one. Either way, I loved the cool girl vibe I got when I saw this look.

To recap, Nordstrom’s fall 2015 trends are…

  • Festive Folk – where bohemian meets wordly sophistocation
  • Oxford Comma – taking inspiration from the men this season, and get a pair of oxfords
  • Warrior – give a show of strength with a battle ready look with furry details
  • Goth Grunge – Add a bit of rebellious edge with shadowy cheeks, lace, and dark florals
  • Black and White – the ultimate color contrast, black is by no means basic when paired with white
  • Sparkle and Shine – make your accessories pop this season with crystal details, glitter coated pumps and hardware studded bags

The evening always comes and goes way too quickly, before I knew it the show ended and it was time to go home. This year’s event was excellent, Nordstrom knows how to put on a memorable event! I’m ready and excited to welcome fall.
