Walla Walla is one of my all time favorite places to escape to. If you enjoy food, breathtaking scenery and wine tasting, it’s definitely a destination I recommend visiting. Just a few hours drive from Seattle or a quick plane ride, Walla Walla is a charming town that instantly captures your heart and almost makes you want to pick up and move there. That’s how I feel about Walla Walla anyway. It could also have to do with the fact that I have good friends who live there and I love getting to spend time with them. It always amazes me when I’m there how beautiful and diverse Washington is, I live in downtown Seattle where it’s loud and always busy, but when I get to Walla Walla there are stunning wheat fields as far as the eye can see, vineyards, and blue skies that make me want to grab a bottle of wine, lay outside and stare out for days. Let’s get started and I’ll take you through all my pictures.

First, let’s begin with the wine tasting! On Saturday we visited four wineries, Walla Walla VintnersàMaurice Cellars, Buty and Balboa. We used Bella Fortuna tours to drive us around to all the wineries we visited, for obvious reasons it made sense to have someone else do the driving that day.

This is àMaurice Cellars, a family-owned boutique winery situated in the Blue Mountains of Walla Walla. These bright yellow chairs were very inviting to sit in with my delicious glass of wine!

Before our last stop at Balboa we popped into this cool spot called Andrae’s Kitchen for some lunch to go. It’s inside a gas station which you’d think was a little odd at first, after taking my first bite I was blown away by how good my gyro was, probably one of the best I’ve ever had.

We arrived at Balboa and had a little picnic lunch at one of their outside tables, it was the perfect afternoon treat to sit in the sunshine, enjoy amazing wine and eat incredibly delicious food!

What’s a trip without taking pictures of your food right? (insert winky face) This is a snap of one of the dinners we had. I don’t know that it gets much better than sitting around a table with close friends, sharing food, tasting wine, laughing and listening to music.

Capital Barber Shop is a neat spot we discovered when walking around downtown Walla Walla.

On Sunday we visited my favorite tasting room of all, Mansion Creek Cellars owned by my dearest, Mama Julia! Her tasting room is located inside the Marcus Whitman Hotel.

Mama Julia is one of the kindest most vivacious people I know, whenever you’re around her you can’t help but laugh, smile and feel happy. Her passion for living life and for sharing her wines with you make for a memorable visit to her tasting room.

If you’re looking for a delicious meal, Whitehouse Crawford is a yummy spot to visit.

For breakfast go to Bacon & Eggs. The name pretty much says it all, they offer a nice variety of breakfast dishes, I had their chilaquiles.

After breakfast at Bacon & Eggs take a stroll around Whitman College’s campus, it’s beautiful and full of lush greenery.
