Sharing pictures from my recent haircut at the new essensuals London salon here in Seattle. Haircuts begin at just $55 and blowouts begin at $35. The salon inside is minimal and modern in design and lit with lots of natural light. The walls are white, they serve you coffee in a French press and offer you flattering black robes to wear during your service.

During my haircut I visited with twin brother’s Jason and Robert Townsend, the owners of the salon. Their passion for hairdressing was contagious, and quite frankly encouraging. I say encouraging because the way they explained haircare was simple and straightforward. In the past I’ve sometimes left places feeling a little overwhelmed with the long list of products and treatments I’d need to use in order to have nice hair. What also stood out to me in speaking with Jason and Robert was learning how involved they were in the Seattle community. In talking with them I picked up a few haircare tips…
- Don’t rinse your hair in hot water, the water should be cool or room temperature, hot water is damaging to your hair.
- You only need to use a small amount of shampoo and conditioner when washing your hair, smaller than the size of a quarter.
- When applying conditioner to your hair, apply it from the ears down.
- Mousse is amazing! I had no idea how powerful a little mousse was, by simply adding a small amount to my hair and blowdrying, I had way more volume than I’d ever had before.
I loved the outcome of my service, my hair was full of volume and really soft. They used Pureology products in my hair, shampoo, conditioner and mousse. If you’re in need of a haircut, color or perhaps just a quick blowout definitely consider checking our essensuals London.
