I spent a magical Saturday night amongst friends and an incredibly supportive community at the Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington annual Wish Night Gala & Auction. Hush Puppies shoes was extremely generous in sponsoring a table that evening for myself and my close friends. Together we helped raise more than $1.3 million to support wishes throughout the year. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has long been an organization close to my heart and one I feel very passionate about. I guess it all started when I was little, my mom worked closely with them and inspired me to get involved. As soon as I was 16 I started volunteering at events and in college I interned at their Seattle office. I’m proud and excited to have been able to share in the magic of the night over the weekend, hearing inspiring wish stories, catching up with my friends who work at the Seattle office and sharing Make-A-Wish with my awesome friends who joined me.
A few pictures from our table sponsored by Hush Puppies.
Attending this Gala also meant that I got to dress up- yay! It’s one of the few occasions where I can go all out with a floor length dress, get my hair and make up done and observe what everyone else in attendance is wearing. I always get inspired by seeing others all dressed up, I briefly met a lovely woman who was wearing this incredible sequin gown that she’s had for 22 years! I wish I got a picture but alas I was so mesmerized by her dress and friendly demeanor that getting a photo escaped me. Thank you to Nordstrom and SEVEN Salon for helping me feel pretty with your makeup and hair experts!
When I went into SEVEN for my airwave, I asked for soft old Hollywood curls to compliment my dress and makeup.
My incredibly wonderful friends who took part in the magic of the night!
I had my makeup done by MAC at Nordstrom, the pink around my eyes is actually a blush, thought that was really cool.
Another congratulations to Make-A-Wish on their successful and unforgettable night and to Hush Puppies for their generosity and support in sponsoring a table at the event. Make-A-Wish is a terrific organization to get involved with whether you’d like to volunteer your time, donate airline miles or perhaps Adopt-A-Wish. If you’d like to learn more about how you can join in and help make a difference in someone’s life I encourage you to check out their website.
