Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. Whether it’s a quick 30 minute drive east, or a 3 hour plane ride south I love the excitement of being away and on the road. It’s been a busy last few weeks for me, I just returned from San Francisco and am in Portland now, with New York for Fashion Week and Las Vegas for PoshFest on the calendar coming up.

I always enjoy getting to be in Portland to see the extended family that lives here and indulge in a little tax free shopping. I thought I’d share a few fun photos from last night’s evening in Portland, dinner and ice cream on a hot summer night, what could be better?

A lot of friends have recommended Pok Pok in south east Portland as one of the best places for Thai food, it’s a colorful place that has an interesting menu of food with sweet and spicy flavors. I posted a picture of my meal on Instagram, something that I thought was unique, the server brought a plate of ice chips to go with the meal. Explaining that it would help cool the palette after spicy food.

Cocktails

Dessert was had at Salt & Straw right across the street from Pok Pok. The ice cream there is quite memorable and one of a kind, with flavors on the menu like chocolate blueberry rice crispy treat, raspberry champagne sorbet and goat cheese pear. Also, probably the most striking thing about my experience there, a woman brought with her a tiny 21 week old hedgehog named Henry with her, as I’m eating my ice cream she walks up near where I’m sitting, pulls him out and introduces him. Who knew bringing your hedgehog out with you was a thing?
