Simon Doonan and Tomoko Ogura in Seattle

Everyone needs a signature flourish. -Simon Doonan

Creative Ambassador at Large of New York City-based clothing store Barneys Simon Doonan and Fashion Director Tomoko Ogura came to Seattle and hosted an intimate breakfast at their Seattle store. Simon was colorfully dressed in his signature flourish, a floral shirt while Tomoko was effortlessly cool in jeans and a black and white striped t shirt. Both spoke openly about their excitement for fall’s latest trends and Barneys commitment to supporting designers with great stories and big ideas. Barneys puts careful thought into each piece that can be shopped in their stores, every Barneys store is thoughtfully edited with trends that are relevant per city and climate.

What really stood out to and inspired me about Barneys was their dedication to delivering amazing quality pieces to their customers from designers who each bring their own one of a kind stories to the table.

Sneaker phenomenon- colored sneakers that are in Simon’s words “groovy” with a comfortable touch of practicality. His favorite he shared were these MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA Paint Splatter Low Top Sneakers.

A signature flourish- like something from British Columbia-based designer Raif Adelberg. Raif, inspired by nature and the beauty that surrounds him creates one of a kind classic knits with lush cashmere and vibrant tie-dyed hues.

Everything Yves Saint Laurent- buy it all up while you can because it’s going to be even bigger than it already is by next Tuesday. -Simon Doonan

Duffel shape handbags are the new carry all- like this YSL Suede Medium Classic Duffel (my dream bag).

All day clutch- the clutch isn’t just for an evening out, using one of these for your every day is a great new situation to get involved with. This PIERRE HARDY Colorblock Bag 61 Mini was one clutch both Simon and Tomoko recommended.
