Cue a charming narrative voice, like that of Morgan Freeman or Kristen Bell. It was a humid Thursday evening in the city of Seattle and Mollie (me) went thrift shopping with a woman known as The Thrift Whisperer, also known as Kim Holcomb. Lots of browsing was done, clothes were tried on and deals were found. Two statement rings, two necklaces, a purse and a men’s plaid button up were purchased and not even $50 was spent.

Mollie in Seattle shopping at Goodwill

I’m embarrased to say that I’d never really been thrift shopping before until today. Boy was I in for a kick in the pants and a pleasant surprise, thrift shopping is fabulous. Kim took me to the Goodwill in South Lake Union her in Seattle. Among the many treasures there, we found a brand new BCBG sweater dress, tags still attached for $29, Paige jeans for $19, even a beautiful Marc New York leather jacket that was seriously as soft as butter for $50. It was jewelry galore with pearls and statement rings a plenty. I found two rings I loved and two necklaces.

And finally my favorite find of all that only cost me $7.99, this lovely blue leather purse that’s also a crossbody

Be sure to check out the Goodwill here in Seattle’s SLU neighborhood if you’re local or check to see where the Goodwill nearest you is, happy thrifting and happy treasure finding! Big shout out to Kim for introducing me to thrifting and helping me find yet another awesome place to shop.
