Pretty palm trees outside of my hotel, the Sunset Marquis

I’m writing this blog post from high up in the sky on my way back home to Seattle from Los Angeles. I wanted to share a few of my favorite things from my trip, in the last year I’ve traveled a great deal, New York, Los Angeles, The Bahamas, Spain, Miami, San Francisco to name a few places. I’ve gotten to enjoy bits and pieces of each city I’ve been to and want to start sharing more, some of my favorite things or must-have-to-pack things for traveling.

I’m really excited about my new Gap pink cropped trousers, with pink being my favorite color they made perfect sense to pack for California. I paired them with my favorite Elizabeth and James silk blouse (similar here), a crested blazer and my Dolce Vita white pumps.

My three outfit go to’s when I’m traveling are as follows, my black leather Michael Kors jacket, a scarf and black Silver Jeans Co. jeans (on sale!). They’re easy to mix and match with everything, and just really comfortable to wear. Scarves are great for keeping me warm while on the plane and adding another interesting element to my outfit. This combination of items always guarantees me that I’ll feel happy and stylish.

Whenever I’m in another city I try to do at least one really nice dinner somewhere I’ve never been. This trip brought me to Lucques in West Hollywood where I caught up with an old friend I’ve known since the 7th grade. Getting to sit outside where it’s not too cold and enjoy a yummy dinner with a fabulous cocktail was definitely a treat. If you’re ever in the LA area I highly recommend checking Lucques out, even if it’s just to sit at the bar for a drink, it’s a place I’ll be returning to most definitely when I’m back down that way.

In closing I’d like to make note that I packed everything I needed for my three days in Los Angeles in a carry on bag (insert happy dance and high-five to myself). Traveling with only carry on now is kind of addicting…
