I can’t really think of a better word for it but, it’s interesting to think back on my life in the last few years and realize that with each passing year my life has gotten progressively more busy. Great example, I’m flying out to New York tomorrow for a week for work. It’s a little after 9pm and I haven’t really started packing yet, that’s on my to do list once this post is finished. I’m sure I’m not alone in that we can all agree life is crazy busy and it’s easy to get caught up in all that “busy” entails. With schedules being filled with work, blog events, friends, sleeping, family etc- it’s nice to take time to disconnect and enjoy a relaxing weekend away. I think it’s good for your brain and helps maintain mental sanity.

I spent the weekend on Whidbey Island at my grandparents house, it’s always a treat when I get to be there because I get spoiled. I get to sleep in, enjoy their company, my grandma’s homemade bread and my grandpa’s delicious scrambled eggs. Weekends away at their house consist of comfortable clothes like jeans, sweaters and t shirts. I thought I would share a few photos from my time there.

My Australian Labradoodle, Amelia Bedilia and I at Deception Pass. As far as children go she’s the closest thing I have to that. I’m wearing my SPUN navy cardigan and sunglasses by A.J. Morgan.

My grandparents, Pops and Phyllis, they were high school sweethearts and are a real life example of true love. You can read more about their enchanting story in my blog post “Real Life Love Stories”. (I highly recommend it)

Pink flowers on their deck, because it’s my favorite color.

Continuing my practice with picture-taking, I’m getting there slowly but surely. Wearing my Tory Burch Japan Relief T Shirt and my A.J. Morgan sunglasses.

So there you have it, a few photos from my weekend. I’m off to pack my suitcase for New York!
