The view from our apartment balcony

I arrived in Barcelona, Spain this morning. I’m currently sitting here in my room writing this blog post to you and it already feels like I’ve been here for days. As soon as I got off the plane I had a full day of work, some shopping and exploring ahead of me. Right now it’s about 9pm Barcelona time and I think my body is ultra confused thinking that it’s noon back at home in Seattle. Basically I’m extremely tired and plan to hit the sack as soon as I finish this post, I’m hoping I’ll adjust to the time change as quickly as possible.

La Sagrada Familia

Anyway, after landing in Barcelona I took a cab to where I was staying (right near La Sagrada Familia), which was quick and easy. The cabs here are impeccably clean and the drivers are quite pleasant. Since I speak Spanish I had an interesting chat with my driver who was kind enough to drive me around a little and show me some significant sites on the way to my destination.

I can’t really say what my one favorite thing about Spain is yet, but I can tell you that the food is mouth-watering and delicious. It’s so fresh and with every bite comes a taste that I know I’ll remember months and months from now. The people here in Spain are kind and helpful, they’re also very well dressed, the architecture is almost unreal it’s so detailed and the outdoor seating in the sunshine has a romantic and enchanting feel to it. More about the outdoor seating, I want to sit outside a cafe in the sun, with my favorite book “Rebecca”, wear a big pair of sunglasses and just watch all the people that go by, how nice does that sound?

My outfit for today was fairly simple, a brightly colored maxi dress that I picked up at Nordstrom a while ago, my REPORT silver gladiator sandals (also purchased at Nordstrom) and my Rebecca Minkoff black bag (another treasure found at Nordstrom). Oh yes and my favorite Jessica Simpson sunglasses. Because it was so hot out I went with pulling my hair back into a side pony tail.

I’m sharing a few photos that I’ve taken so far here within this blog post but I’ve added a lot more to my Facebook page, so if you feel like it check them out there too.

In sum, I’m smitten with Barcelona, it’s now one of my top favorite cities I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting.
