The 84th Annual Academy Awards took place on Sunday. I like many others watched intently with excitement and intrigue to see what Oscar nominees and attendees would be wearing on the red carpet. Everyone looked spectacular in their own way, I mean it’s the Oscars. Of all the people and clothes I saw, I observed five components of style I absolutely fell head over heels for.
Simplicity, details, high slit dresses, fuchsia and royalty.
Gwyneth Paltrow, spectacularly elegant and clearly a vision in white; was glowing in the simplicity of her white Tom Ford gown and cape. Seeing this only makes me more content that I snagged a white blazer, next on my list is a white cape.
Best Actress nominee Michelle Williams was a lady in red on the red carpet in her gown by Louis Vuitton. Notice the detail in her bow brooch she has placed on her dress. It was also fun to see her mix colors by wearing a pink clutch (my favorite color too!)
I can’t help but feel joy and excitement in seeing Angelina Jolie in this picture; her smile resonates warmth. She arrived at the Academy Awards in an Atelier Versace black gown. What I love so much about this look is not only the high slit, which adds a tasteful touch of provocative but how elegant this whole ensemble is. A black dress in my opinion is never a bad choice.
Emma Stone was absolutely breathtaking in this fuchsia Giambattista Valli gown. The bow detail around her neck was striking and a great choice in my opinion.
I’m just going to say it, Penelope Cruz looked like royalty on the red carpet in her Armani Prive off the shoulder gown. Her hair, the diamond wreath necklace and everything about this look personified royalty. It almost seemed as though she might have channeled a little Grace Kelly perhaps in this? Either way, this look takes the cake.
