Across the bridge from Seattle, in a lovely place called Woodinville lies a breathtaking estate house and a tasting room filled with rich and elegant wine. Matthews Estate was established in 1993 and is surrounded by a valley and 8 acres of lush property. Tenor Wines tasting room can also be found in Woodinville and celebrated their Grand Opening last weekend.

I couldn’t resist the sunshine that took place last weekend so I decided what better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than with some of my good friends. We decided to go wine tasting and celebrate the musical accomplishments of our dear friend Bryan Setzer as well as, and this is going to sound a tad cheesy but rejoice in our friendships. Our afternoon began at the estate house at Matthews, where we were greeted by our gracious host and chilled wine waiting to quench our pallets. The estate house is absolutely stunning and boasts a large deck where you can soak up the sunshine and enjoy a beautiful view. Inside the house you’ll find a large kitchen perfect for entertaining and I’m sure cooking world class meals, a master suite that will put your jaw on the floor, a walk in closet that is almost as big as a bedroom, a private movie theatre room on the second floor and a second bedroom. Oh and did I mention the amazing wine cellar downstairs? It was huge. We had the opportunity to visit, enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres, learn about Matthews Wine and of course hear Bryan Setzer sing.

Tenor Wines
After finishing part I of our tasting we made the 6 minute drive to the Tenor tasting room to be a part of their Grand Opening celebration. Here we enjoyed more mouthwatering cuisine and fine wine from Tenor. I can’t say how wonderful the day was and how remarkable all the wine was that we tried. I would definitely recommend an afternoon of wine tasting at Woodinville’s finest, Matthews and Tenor.
