Happy World Wish Day 2011! Today, April 29th, 2011 is World Wish Day, a global celebration of wish granting with The Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Make-A-Wish Foundation helps grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Make-A-Wish is an organization I have a strong connection with and will forever have a special place in my heart. I am very passionate about giving back and helping others and my involvement with MAW has only helped me see how important it is to give back to others. I’ve been involved with them since I was young, my mom is the one who is introduced me to the organization and to the value of charity and philanthropy. I admired her giving spirit and generosity and I guess am trying to follow in her footsteps. Make-A-Wish is such an empowering and life changing experience, getting to help make wishes come true is like an indescribable feeling. There’s nothing more powerful, humbling or inspiring than seeing a child’s face light up when they learn their wish is coming true. So I hope today you’ll take a moment and check out MAW’s website and see how you can get involved and help share in the power of bringing joy into the life of a child. There are a lot of ways you can help, whether it’s donating your time, some air miles, $5 dollars, or something as simple as liking them on Facebook and following them on Twitter.
