How does the saying go? Everything always comes full circle? Velvet was big in the 90’s and again finally seems to be a big, prominent and exciting trend for fall fashion this year and I like it. Heck, if Rachel Zoe is wearing it, you know it’s in (I die for her if you didn’t already know). I’ve always liked velvet though and I’m super excited to see it on runways and in magazines. There’s something about velvet that I associate with femininity and being super chic. Velvet is just regal and luxurious, its far from grungy that’s for sure and it is appropriate for any occasion. Velvet I think is best in deep midnight blues, dark greens, black and red. There’s something too about the texture of velvet that’s sleek and sexy, something about the way the fabric falls on your body. It’s awesome. So to all you velvet haters out there, deal with it. The trend looks like its here to stay, and it’s been put out there by in the know designers such as Zac Posen, Jil Stuart, Alexander Wang, Nanette Lepore, Ralph Lauren, Karen Walker and Rochas. Now that I’ve blogged about velvet, I need to go out and shop for lots of it!
