My dog turned 3 yesterday. Her name is Amelia Bedilia after my favorite story book character, Amelia is my shadow and constant companion, she goes just about everywhere with me, whether its for rides in the car, walks on the beach or sleeping in my lap while I work or read. She’s the best. So of course I had to celebrate the day of her birth with a little party and some cake! My awesome sister Katia (Follow her on Twitter at @KatiaRenee) baked a delicious doggy friendly cake for Mimi’s birthday. Amelia absolutely loved it as you can see from the photos, I think the peanut butter was her favorite part, we added it because it’s a treat she loves. As for us, the flavor was a little bland, it wasn’t horrible it just didn’t have a whole lot of flavor. The party was a success and I’m so happy to have the best dog in the whole world!

Spoon batter evenly into oiled and floured bundt pan. Bake for about 35 minutes. Cool on wire rack 5 minutes, remove from pan, replace on rack and cool.

To make Banana Carob frosting, combine the following ingredients and blend thoroughly:

2 cups ripe banana, mashed
1 Tbs butter

Sprinkle with chopped peanuts and enjoy!!- Instead of this frosting however we used organic peanut butter and some honey, as it is Amelia’s favorite treat!
